Partial dentures are made when one or more natural teeth are intact in the upper or lower jaw and usually consist of replacement teeth attached to a pink or gum-coloured plastic base, which is sometimes connected by a metal framework that holds the denture in place in the mouth. A precision partial denture is removable and has internal attachments rather than clasps that attach to the adjacent crowns. This is a more natural-looking appliance.
Complete dentures are created and placed when all natural teeth are missing. For complete denture patients, we recommend conventional dentures which make more appropriate adjustments with the gums and bones after all teeth are removed.
